The Caring Hearts Ministry is an outreach to our community that provides stop-gap food and clothing to needy families.

Located adjacent to the Family Life Center, the “Food Pantry” is open Tuesday mornings and Thursday afternoons for anyone having difficulty obtaining the basics of life. While at the Panty, visitors receive a week’s worth of food for their family. They may also select several items of good-quality, slightly used clothing. They are also encouraged to share information about their other physical and spiritual difficulties with a worker, who may pray with them at that time, or pass along requests to the Shadowbrook congregation for prayer.

At Christmas time, The Ministry also operates the “Christmas Project.” Enrolled families receive a full Christmas meal, and gifts for family members. The joy of needy families participating in the Project is wonderful to behold, but it is rivaled by the joy of the Caring Hearts “angels” who shop, pack, and distribute the gifts.

The Caring Hearts Ministry depends completely on freewill donations of food, clothing, and financial assistance. All staff members are trained volunteers from Shadowbrook. New volunteers are always welcome. Anyone interested in helping with the weekly ministry or with the Christmas Project should contact Susan Croxton(stcroxton@yahoo.com) at 770-945-1524.
